A refund cannot be processed directly. Refund eligibility must be checked and requested through the Microsoft account used to buy the subscription.
Follow these steps to cancel and check refund eligibility for a Microsoft 365 (often miscalled “360”) home subscription:
- Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365 and sign in with the same Microsoft account that was used to purchase the subscription.
- Find the Microsoft 365 subscription and select Manage.
- If instead of Manage it shows Turn on recurring billing, the subscription is already set to expire on the date shown and will not be charged again; in that case there is nothing more to do for future charges.
- On the next page, select Cancel (it may appear as Upgrade or Cancel).
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete cancellation and see whether a refund is offered as part of the process.
Important details from the refund policy:
- Not all cancellations result in a refund; eligibility is determined during the cancellation flow.
- If the subscription was purchased through Google Play or the Apple App Store, cancellation and any refund must be requested from their support, not from Microsoft.
- In Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Israel, Korea, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, or Turkey, cancelling may entitle to a prorated refund depending on subscription length and renewal status.
If the subscription is Microsoft 365 Basic, Personal, Family, or Premium, cancelling will also reduce cloud storage back to the free allowance after the subscription ends, which may affect OneDrive and Outlook.com usage.
If the online steps do not show a refund option or if there are billing issues (for example, unrecognized charges), contact Microsoft Support for billing assistance via the Contact Microsoft Support / Contact support path described in the documentation.
