Hi,

today i have been charged 6 99 for game-pass essential on xbox after my trial ended today. I have tried to request a refund but articles and the website have led me in a circle and got me no where there are zero options for me to do anything i meet all criteria for a refund as the charge was today and i have not used the service since the charge. The chat bot is useless and i want to talk to a real human about my issue however this is impossible as we now depend on ai for everything apparently.

I've tried this to with my ultimate gamepass. I redeemed a ultimate gamepass code months ago and didn't agree to have automatic renewal. And today I realized I've been charged for months. And in the middle of this i received a new card and i swear up and down i didn't add it to any Microsoft store payment methods. But I've read all the forums related to a refund and when I get to refunds it doesn't appear. So im in the same boat and id really like help.

To request a refund and stop future charges for Xbox Game Pass Essential that renewed today and has not been used since the charge, follow these steps:

    1. Cancel the subscription / turn off recurring billing
      1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the account that was charged.
      2. Find the Game Pass subscription under Services & subscriptions and select Manage.
      3. Select Cancel or Turn off recurring billing and follow the prompts so it does not renew again.
    2. Request a refund for today’s charge
      1. Go to the Xbox support page Request a refund for digital games: Request a refund for digital games and sign in with the same account.
      2. Select the recent Game Pass charge from the list.
      3. Choose Request a refund.
      4. Provide the reason (for example: trial just renewed today, service not used) and select Next.
      5. Confirm the details and select Submit.
    3. Check refund status
      1. After submitting, processing can take up to 72 hours.
      2. You can monitor the status on the Refund status tab on the same page or via your Xbox order history: Open Order history.
      3. Once approved, refunds are generally processed back to the original payment method within 3–5 business days.
    4. If online options still do not work If there is no visible Request a refund option or the flow keeps looping, contact Microsoft Store / Xbox billing support directly via the official support channels listed under Microsoft Store & billing help and Subscriptions & billing support for Xbox in the references below. A support agent can review the charge and process an eligible refund.
