Why is Teams shortening my URL in the messages?

At work we have to send URL with parameters via Teams, but MS Teams keeps shortening the URLs, making it more difficult for no reason.

And there is no toggle to select the default of long or short links.

I don't mean shortening like Bitly and similar services do, but after some point, Teams replaces the rest of the URL with ellipses. I know that right-clicking them and selecting "copy link" to then pasting them elsewhere (notepad or Word) works, or breaking the URL so that Teams doesn't recognize it as a hyperlink, but why should I need to do all that when it is the software inconveniencing the users?
