How to remove personal LinkedIn profile from Teams/Outlook (Work Account)

The title says it all. I want to remove my LinkedIn profile from my Work/School account. LinkedIn shows nothing is connected under "Partners & Services".

I've selected "Wrong LinkedIn Profile" way too many times to count, both in Teams and Outlook.

I already went into "My Account" and checked "Services" under "Privacy" under "Settings & Privacy" which does not show LinkedIn is connected.

So essentially, both my Work/School account and my personal LinkedIn account are reporting that no services are connected, but that's clearly not true, as my LinkedIn is currently visible to my entire organization from Teams/Outlook.

Why can't I remove my own personal account from my Work/School Account? That's not right. I should be able to remove my own account. Not to mention, what if someone accidentally adds the incorrect account? There's a lot wrong with this. Moved from: Outlook | Web | Outlook.com | Account management, security, and privacy

Outlook | Web | Outlook on the web for business | Settings

    Dear @User,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum. I understand that your personal LinkedIn profile is still visible in Teams and Outlook under your Work/School account, even though both LinkedIn and Microsoft settings show that nothing is connected. I also understand your concern about privacy and control over your own account.

Based on how LinkedIn integration currently works, seeing a LinkedIn profile in Teams or Outlook does not always mean that your LinkedIn account is connected to your Work/School account. In your case, both LinkedIn and Microsoft correctly show that there is no active connection under Partners & Services or Account privacy settings.

What you are seeing instead is LinkedIn profile information being displayed through public profile matching. Microsoft apps like Teams and Outlook can surface publicly available LinkedIn profile details (such as name, role, or company) even when accounts are not connected. Because there is no actual account link, there is unfortunately nothing available for you to manually remove at the user level.

This also explains why selecting “Wrong LinkedIn profile” does not permanently resolve the issue. That option only hides the profile temporarily and does not disable future matching.

Regarding privacy settings, disconnecting accounts and adjusting LinkedIn visibility settings helps limit data sharing, but it does not fully prevent public profile discovery inside Microsoft apps. This behavior is currently controlled at the organization level rather than by individual users.

At this time, there are only two practical options:

If you prefer this feature to be disabled entirely, your organization’s IT administrator can turn off LinkedIn integration for users through Microsoft Entra ID settings.

If you prefer to limit visibility further, reviewing which parts of your LinkedIn profile are public may help reduce what is shown.

I understand this is not the experience you expected, I want you to know that Microsoft deeply values customer experience and feedback. Every single comment matter, and the product teams actively review what customers share to guide decisions and improvements. Your voice is powerful here, and I encourage you to make it heard through the official feedback channels. Therefore, to ensure your feedback reaches the right teams, I highly recommend submitting your feedback directly to Microsoft Ideas · Community, where our product development team can know your requirements and ideas for product improvements. If enough users raise ticket for the same idea, Microsoft may consider adding this feature in the future. Note: As Microsoft Community moderators, please note that we are not involved in product design decisions and do not have direct access to the development roadmap, we want to assure you that your feedback has been acknowledged and is valued.

However, you can rest assured that you are not alone, I’ll continue to monitor this case and will reach out to you with any new updates as soon as possible. If any updates or announcements are made regarding this feature, I will make sure to share them with you as soon as possible.

I understand this may not be the outcome you were hoping for. I truly appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have any further questions or need further clarification, please feel free to reach out. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

AI-generated answer: "The LinkedIn profile’s appearance in Microsoft apps depends on LinkedIn’s off-LinkedIn visibility settings. If those settings allow the profile to be shown in partner services, colleagues may still see LinkedIn information in Teams/Outlook even when no connection is listed under Partners & services."

I already DID change my settings on LinkedIn, so the fact that my profile is still visible is in clear violation of those settings.
