Applied Skills lab failed to load VM credentials — request attempt reset

I was taking the "Streamline business workflows with AI chat" Applied Skills assessment today. The virtual machine loaded but showed a login screen with "Other user" and returned a username/password error when I attempted to sign in with my Microsoft account ([******@pm4sight.com]).

I did not realize the VM requires separate lab-provided credentials from the Instructions panel — I was not aware of this until after the session expired while I was troubleshooting in a different browser.

I never completed any tasks in the assessment. The lab then showed "Sorry, this lab is no longer available" after the session timed out during my browser switch.

Request: Please reset my attempt so I can retake the assessment. I now understand I need to use the lab-provided User1 credentials shown in the Instructions panel, not my personal Microsoft account.

Applied Skills assessment lab attempts and sessions can’t be reset or reopened by learners once the lab has been exited or has timed out. Scoring starts in the background as soon as the lab is left, and it isn’t possible to return to that same lab session.

To get help with this specific attempt and to request any possible remediation, contact Credentials Support and provide the assessment name, date/time, and the account used:

    1. Go to Credentials Support: https://www.aka.ms/credentialssupport
    2. Select the area for Microsoft Applied Skills Credentials and Assessment Labs.
    3. Submit a support request describing that the VM credentials were not used and the lab expired before any tasks were completed.

    For future Applied Skills labs:

    • After the lab launches, use the Instructions pane on the right.
    • In Step 3, select the provided username and password so they auto-fill the VM or portal sign-in fields instead of using a personal Microsoft account.
    • Do not leave or refresh the lab browser tab; once the lab is exited, it cannot be resumed.
