Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Open an incognito tab on any web browser and sign in with your Microsoft account here-

    https://outlook.live.com/mail/0/options/accounts-category/storage

(Copy and paste the link above and sign in with your account)

Expand "Microsoft Storage" and "E-mail Storage section".

**Without an Office 365 Subscription, you get 5GB of OneDrive Cloud Storage and 15GB of Outlook E-mail Storage.

If you exceed the limits, you will not be able to send or receive emails online.

If you have exceeded the storage limits, you can either upgrade your Cloud Storage or free up space so you can send or receive emails normally.

    • If your Storage is not full, check that you have signed in with the correct account, and the email you received is from the official Microsoft Support.

Let me know if you still need more help.

The “100% full / over limit” messages are about Microsoft storage and/or mailbox quota. To confirm that the overage is really fixed, the storage pages must show usage below the quota for both Outlook.com email and Microsoft cloud storage.

Use these steps in Outlook.com (web):

    1. Check Outlook.com mailbox storage
      1. Sign in to Outlook.com.
      2. Open Settings (gear icon) and search for Storage.
      3. Open the Storage page.
      4. Confirm the percentage used is below the limit and review the per‑folder breakdown.
      5. If it is still close to or over the limit, use the cleanup options shown there to permanently delete items (or items older than 3, 6, or 12 months) from large folders until the total is under quota.
    2. Check Microsoft cloud (unified) storage
      1. If the warning mentions Microsoft Unified Storage is full or OneDrive being full, sign in to your Microsoft account and open the Microsoft storage page (OneDrive / Microsoft storage).
      2. Verify total usage is below the 5 GB (free) or your current quota.
      3. If it is still over, delete or move files from OneDrive, large email attachments, or other items counted toward Microsoft storage until the total is under quota.
    3. Understand the impact of being over quota According to the storage rules:
      • If Microsoft cloud storage is exceeded, new files cannot be uploaded or synced to OneDrive, Outlook.com cannot send/receive email, and Teams attachments are blocked. After 6 months, OneDrive content may be deleted.
      • If only email storage is exceeded, Outlook.com cannot send/receive email and senders get a “mailbox full” error until usage is reduced.
    4. Confirm the warnings are for the correct account
      • The warning email might be going to a different Microsoft account than the one currently in use. Sign out of all Microsoft services in the browser, then sign back in using the exact email address that appears in the warning message and repeat steps 1–2.
      • If there was an older Microsoft/OneDrive profile on another PC, that older account may still be over quota even if the current one is not. Sign in with that older address, download anything important, then delete content there to clear its storage.
    5. When the problem is resolved
      • Once both Outlook.com mailbox storage and Microsoft cloud storage show usage below their limits for the account named in the warning email, the “100% full / over limit” messages and risk of email being stopped should cease.

If storage is still close to full after cleanup and more space is needed, either continue deleting content or use the upgrade options described in the storage pages to increase the quota.
