You can only reschedule more than 24 hours before an exam. It is a straightforward process.

You will have been marked as a No Show for the exam

Be sure to reschedule or cancel exam appointments at least 24 hours before your scheduled exam or your fee will be forfeited. If you used a company-purchased voucher, the voucher will be forfeited. If you no-show for your exam appointment, your Company may be charged a no-show Fee. Visit registering and scheduling an exam to review the latest updates to the exam scheduling policy.

Missed exam appointments cannot be rescheduled after the scheduled time; the fee or free-offer voucher is forfeited if the appointment was not cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance.

To reschedule or cancel a future Microsoft certification exam (including AZ-900) on Windows or any platform:

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft Learn profile used to schedule the exam.
    2. Select the profile avatar in the top-right corner and choose Profile.
    3. In the left menu, select Credentials, then Certifications.
    4. Scroll to the specific exam appointment.
    5. Select Cancel or Reschedule.
    6. The browser will redirect to the exam delivery provider (for example, Pearson VUE); complete the reschedule or cancellation there.

Key policy points from the context:

    • Exams must be rescheduled or cancelled at least 24 hours before the scheduled time; otherwise, the entire exam fee is forfeited.
    • For free exam offers (such as Ignite/Build promotions), if the appointment is not cancelled or rescheduled according to the policy, the free exam offer is forfeited and cannot be reused.

For a missed AZ-900 exam where the scheduled time has already passed and was not successfully rescheduled 24+ hours in advance, a new exam appointment must be scheduled and paid for (or booked with a new valid voucher/offer) as the original booking cannot be reused.
