Photo App and file name

When I import photos from my iOS device I have to use the Photo app. It was much easier when I was able to right click and choose import photos. I had the option to choose how my files were named but it appears that is no longer an option. When importing photos using the Photo app, is there a way to name files with the date taken data?

The current Photos app and Photos Legacy app on Windows support importing photos and videos from iOS devices, but the provided documentation does not describe any option to customize the destination file names (for example, to automatically name files using the “date taken” metadata) during import.

Imports from other cloud sources (such as Google Photos into OneDrive) also preserve or transform names in predefined ways only (for example, OriginalPhotoName_HashCode.OriginalExtension), not via user-configurable patterns.

Based on the available information, there is no supported way in the Photos app’s import workflow to automatically rename imported photos using the date taken data at import time. Any renaming would need to be done afterward using file management tools (such as OneDrive rename or File Explorer), not as part of the Photos import process.
