To practice in an Azure lab environment using Azure Lab Services, the lab must be created and assigned by an educator or administrator; direct self-service lab creation for practice requires access to an Azure subscription and lab permissions.

There are two main ways to get access to a lab VM in Azure Lab Services:

1. Get invited and register via email
   1. Ask the lab creator (for example, instructor, trainer, or admin) to invite the email address that will be used.
   2. The lab creator sends a lab registration link.
   3. Open the registration URL in a browser.
   4. Sign in with the same email address that received the link.
      • A Microsoft account is required unless using Canvas. Non-Microsoft emails (for example, Gmail, Yahoo) must first be linked to a Microsoft account.
   5. After registration completes, go to the Azure Lab Services website: https://labs.azure.com.
   6. Select My virtual machines and confirm the assigned lab VM is visible; from there it can be started, stopped, and connected to for practice.
2. Access the lab through Teams or Canvas (if used by the organization)
   • If the lab is integrated with Microsoft Teams or Canvas, lab users are automatically registered based on course or team membership.
   • For Canvas:
     1. Sign in to Canvas with Canvas credentials.
