We have been using the same minecraft account for playing on PC for many months. It was purchased for PC through microsoft account 1 year ago. The purchase history on my microsoft account is not showing this however I have an email showing proof of purchase. Now when I use Minecraft launcher on my mac pc, it asks me to sign in via my microsoft account but when i do this, my microsoft account brings me to an old minecraft account that was previously set up for xbox. I cannot get access to microsoft technical support to resolve this. Please help! I would like to chat with a human to resolve this.

    Hello Claire O'Toole,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I see that you are having issue checking the order history of your account. Please note that this is a user-to-user support forum. Moderators, contributors including external Microsoft employees cannot directly intervene in Microsoft product features or access back-end systems. Our role is limited to providing technical guidance on reported issues, requests, or ideas. In this case, if you have a gamertag of the account that you made the purchase from, you can contact Xbox support so they can check if they can find your account. Thank you for your understanding.

The Minecraft licenses and purchase history are tied to a specific Microsoft account. When the launcher signs in to a different Microsoft account (for example, one previously used for Xbox), it will not show the PC Minecraft purchase.

Based on the provided information, the only supported paths are:

    1. Verify and recover the correct Microsoft account
      • Use the Microsoft account sign-in helper and recovery tools to ensure the correct personal Microsoft account (the one that received the purchase email) is accessible and used in the launcher.
      • Start from the Microsoft account dashboard and, if needed, use the guided tools for sign-in issues or account recovery:
    2. Confirm the right account by checking purchases
      • After signing into the Microsoft account dashboard with the account that received the purchase email, check:
      • If the Minecraft purchase does not appear under that account’s order history, it means the game is associated with a different Microsoft account.
    3. If the account was compromised or changed
      • If there is any suspicion that the Minecraft-owning Microsoft account was hacked or altered (for example, email or aliases changed so it no longer appears as expected), follow the official hacked/compromised account recovery flow described in the referenced Q&A:
        • Use the official troubleshooter for a hacked or compromised Microsoft account as indicated in the Q&A answer. If the recovery form cannot locate the account or security info was replaced, there is no alternative recovery method through standard Microsoft support.
    4. Contact Minecraft Support about the game license
      • If the correct Microsoft account cannot be recovered or the purchase is not visible even though there is proof of purchase, the next step is to contact Minecraft Support (as recommended in the Q&A). They may be able to assist with Minecraft-specific ownership issues or provide alternatives for accessing the game license.
    5. Getting human support for billing or fraud issues
      • For billing disputes or unexpected charges, the Q&A examples indicate that using the Get Help app or web support with a “Call me back” option can connect to a human agent who can review charges and subscriptions. This same channel can be used to discuss Microsoft Store purchase issues once the correct account is identified.

Because support and recovery are fully automated and account-bound, there is no direct way to merge or move Minecraft entitlements between Microsoft accounts. The key is to:

    • Identify and sign into the exact Microsoft account that owns the Minecraft purchase.
    • Use the official account recovery and support channels if that account cannot be accessed.
    • Escalate Minecraft-specific license issues to Minecraft Support.
