As the Q&A Assist has mentioned, you cannot directly convert a Microsoft 365 Family plan to a Business subscription; you must purchase a new business plan, migrate your data, and then cancel the family plan. Purchase a Business plan, install apps, move data to OneDrive for Business, and cancel the Family plan to avoid double billing.

To move from Microsoft 365 Family (a home plan) to a Microsoft 365 business subscription, a separate business subscription must be purchased and then files and usage moved over; home and business plans do not “convert” directly.

Use one of these options:

1. Use the guided switch article

• Follow the steps in Switch from Microsoft 365 for home to a business subscription to:
  • Purchase an appropriate Microsoft 365 business plan.
  • Set up the new business tenant (business domain, users, mail, etc.).
  • Move documents and files from the home subscription to the business environment.

2. Get help choosing and setting up a business plan

• Use the Microsoft 365 plan chooser to decide which business plan fits the organization’s size and needs. See Find the right plan for your business and Compare Microsoft 365 for business plans for details and pricing.
• Optionally work with a Microsoft 365 business partner or Microsoft product experts for free setup help, as described in Switch from an individual Microsoft 365 subscription to Microsoft 365 for business.

The existing Family subscription can be kept for personal use if desired, or cancelled separately once everything needed for work has been moved to the business subscription.
