To help narrow down the issue:
- What exact error message do you see when adding the account?
- Did anything change recently (password change, 2-step verification, new PC, Outlook update)?
In the meantime, if you haven’t already:
Yahoo also requires an App Password for Outlook now. Your normal Yahoo password will usually not work anymore.
Try this:
- Sign in to your Yahoo account security page.
- Create an App Password for Outlook.
- Use that generated password when adding the account in Outlook.
Also check this:
- Open Outlook > File > Add Account
- Enter your Yahoo email
- When prompted for password, use the Yahoo App Password, not your regular password.
