Having a printing problem on a new W11 computer, image on prints a small image at top of page

When I print, I only get a 1/4 size printed image at the top of the page centered and a lot of black toner to the right, mostly not readable. I have installed the printer drivers again. Printer is an HP laser jet. Documents, PDFs, etc. all print the same. Image appears okay on the computer screen and if I send the image to my old HP portable or my MacAir, both print the image okay. I will try to upload scanned image of what the printing of the image looks like.

Looking for help.

Thank you for the explanation and details.

If the problem only happens with your Lenovo, it's likely a driver issue or an update you had.

On your Lenovo, do this:

Press WINDOWS + R > Type "winver" (no quotes) > Take a screenshot of the window and send it to me.

You mentioned reinstalling the printer drivers. Try completely removing the printer and drivers, and adding it again.1. Open Windows Settings (press WINDOWS + I keys) > Devices > Printers and Scanners > Remove your printer.

Open Run again > Type "regedit" > Copy the path below > Paste it in the Registry Editor Address Bar, under the "File" Menu, "Edit"...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows x64

Expand the Drivers folder > In the "Version-3" and "Version-4" folders, delete drivers with the name and manufacturer of your printer (Right-Click > Delete).
Expand the Printers folder, in Environments, and delete your printer as well.
Press Windows + R > Type “%windir%\System32\spool\PRINTERS” > Delete all the contents of the folder.
Restart your computer after these changes > Install the printer driver.

Hi! Please send me the complete model number of your HP LaserJet printer. For example, HP LaserJet P1102.

From what I understand, documents print normally, but an image you're trying to print won't?

What is the image size?

Where are you printing the image from (Word, Excel, Photoshop, or Windows Photo Editor)?

When you print the image, what size is selected?

Does this problem happen with all images, or just one?

I've been using it for years, though I don't print a lot (typically now use "print to pdf").

I've never had printing format problems with our HP portable or my MacAir.

This printing problem with our new Lenovo started "out of the box".

At one point I was trying a lot of setting and configurations and then trying a test print. It was becoming frustrating to keep getting up and going to the printer to see if I had found the problem.

Anyway, I eventually hit on the solution, but I was not able to remember which option fixed the problem.

At the time, I just thought it was a "one and done" fix. It worked until there was an automatic software update, then printing reverted back to the small image and to the right of it all the black toner smudge.

I tried to attach a print example. Did you see it?

The image to print shows correctly on the computer monitor. I can take the image file (word, PDF, copy paste, etc) and email it to our HP and to my MacAir. Both computers print the image correctly on the HP printer.

Thanks for responding. I hope you can point me in the right direction.

I attached a copy of the test print to my earlier reply, but I am not sure replying via email works, so trying again. Hope you get this. I will send a copy of what prints, if I can figure out how. Or maybe email it to you?

Is this problem happening on a recently purchased Lenovo computer?

Does the problem not occur on other computers, such as a MacBook, using the same printer and the same image?

Do you copy the image to Word and try to print, or do you open the image in the Photos app and print from there?

Open your Pictures folder under Home and then follow the information I provided in my post. When your photo or photos are selected the choice for different layouts will appear. Select what you want and how and where the pictures appear along with how many you want to print.

Clarification: I'm not trying to print a photograph. I'm trying to print a Word document generated on the Lenovo. But problem happens trying to print a PDF file, also. I can email the Word Document (or PDF) to my old HP Windows laptop or my MacAir and both print the document correctly. I tried loading the HP printer drivers again, but that did not fix the problem. I can not figure out how to post the image of the printed document on this forum. I'm trying to attach it again to this reply.
