Family restrictions persists after leaving, no way to actually remove it

So I experimented with a family account, using my other account as the admin of the family. Now I had enough and removed my (this) account using my other account, but the restrictions is still there, one thing I noticed is not being to open Google Chrome and Brave. I have consulted with multiple AIs about this and it seems like I can't actually break free. As I already set this account's age to 26 (adult), there is no way to access "restricted or filtered websites" like the AIs told me to do.

    Hi there!

It is possible that the way your account was originally setup has a child's date of birth or that there are still restrictions you set in place before removing the account that's why! I suggest try checking your Microsoft family page at:

    https://account.microsoft.com/family

Since you have removed the account from the family group. I suggest add it back as a member so that the parent account can remove the restrictions first. You may also follow the Microsoft guide here to resolve this:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/managing-parental-consent-c6951746-8ee5-8461-0809-fbd755cd902e

In case there are no other adult accounts, you can try creating another adult and re-add your account as a child or member on the Microsoft family. Once done, using the new adult account, you can then proceed to remove the restrictions for your original account before removing them from the group.

This is because only the adult account in the family can make changes to a child's account.

I hope the information above helps. Feel free to let us know if you've tried the above.

Please note that this is a public forum, I will be responding you in short period of time and regret for a delay in response. As I am merely a fellow user trying to provide insight and information that may be helpful to others. Thanks!

Family Safety restrictions can remain on a Windows device even after leaving a family group or changing the account age, because the device itself still has Family Safety settings cached. These must be reset on each affected device.

Follow these steps on the Windows 10 PC where Chrome/Brave are blocked:

    1. On the keyboard, press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog.
    2. Type cmd and select OK to open Command Prompt.
    3. In Command Prompt, copy and run this command (then press Enter):
         schtasks /run /tn "Microsoft\Windows\Shell\FamilySafetyRefreshTask"

    4. Restart the computer.

These steps perform a “safety reset” and remove lingering Family Safety enforcement from the device. Repeat them on any other device where restrictions are still applied.

If still part of any family group as an organizer or member, also verify and adjust or remove the family relationship at https://account.microsoft.com/family as needed.
