Viewing add on calendars

I have four accounts logged in on my outlook app and I also have three sports subscription calendars. Every time I open the calendar view none of my accounts are showing, plus shared calendars are not showing. They are all on the list on the left hand side, and the eight I want are ticked. But the main view is blank. I have to click each one (eight) then click again so that the tick shows, for the each calendar to appear in the main view. If I then click on mail and then back to calendar view, it is reset again?! Any ideas, it is driving me mad!

    Hi Noel Godwin-Smith,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

From what you described, calendars are checked in the left pane but the main Calendar view stays blank until you untick and re‑tick them. This is commonly related to a corrupted Calendar view/navigation pane state. In some cases, an Outlook add‑in can also interfere with how calendars are rendered.

Please try the following steps in Classic Outlook for Windows, in this order:

    1. Reset the Calendar view
    • Calendar > View tab > Reset View
    1. Start Outlook in Safe Mode (to rule out add‑ins)
    • Win + R > outlook /safe
    • If the issue does not occur in Safe Mode, disable add‑ins: File > Options > Add‑ins > COM Add‑ins > Go Then re‑enable them one at a time to identify the culprit.
    1. Repair the view cache
    • Close Outlook > Win + R > outlook /cleanviews
    1. Reset the navigation pane
    • Close Outlook > Win + R > outlook /resetnavpane (Note: this may reset the left pane and you may need to re‑add shared or subscribed calendars.)

If the issue still persists, creating a new Outlook profile often resolves view‑related corruption: Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles > Add.

If you’d like, reply with your Outlook Version/Build (File > Office Account) and let me know whether the issue still occurs in Safe Mode, and I can suggest the best next step.

Please let me know if this proves useful to you, or if you would like further assistance.

I'm looking forward to your reply.

This behavior matches a known calendar rendering issue in classic Outlook for Windows where multiple calendars can show as blank even though they are checked.

The documented resolution is to update classic Outlook to a build where the issue is fixed, then restart Outlook so the change is applied:

    1. In classic Outlook, go to File > Office Account.
    2. Select Update Options > Update Now to install the latest updates.
    3. After the update completes, fully close Outlook and start it again.

Once updated and restarted, the calendars that are checked in the list should render correctly in the main calendar view without needing to re‑toggle them each time.

If the problem persists after updating and restarting, check for any additional Outlook calendar issues and fixes in the current build and apply any recommended workarounds.
