Unable to unistall or update office 365

Question

I am unable to update or uninstall office 365.

I have tried system scan, deleting tempory files and repairing office 365.

Use the Office uninstall troubleshooter to completely remove Office 365, then reinstall it. This is the recommended next step when repair and basic troubleshooting do not work.

1. Run the uninstall troubleshooter
   1. On the affected Windows PC, select the Uninstall button from this article: Uninstall Microsoft 365 or Office from a PC (look for the uninstall troubleshooter link or use the direct Uninstall button shown in the related error articles).
   2. When prompted, click Open if a message appears saying This site is trying to open Get Help.
   3. In the uninstall troubleshooter, follow the prompts to remove Microsoft 365/Office from the PC.
   4. Restart the computer when the troubleshooter asks to do so.
   Notes:
   • The troubleshooter works for Microsoft 365, Office 2021, Office 2019, and Office 2016 on Windows 10 or higher.
   • It cannot uninstall Office 2024.
2. If the troubleshooter fails or does not fully remove Office
   • Follow the guidance to manually uninstall Office if the troubleshooter reports that it could not completely uninstall Office. The uninstall article links to the manual steps: manually uninstall Office.
3. Reinstall Office 365
   1. After Office is fully removed and the PC has been restarted, reinstall Office from the Microsoft 365 account portal using the steps in the install/reinstall article linked from the uninstall troubleshooter, for example: Download, install or reinstall Microsoft 365 or Office 2024 on a PC or Mac.
   2. Complete setup and let Office update normally after installation.

If Office still cannot be uninstalled after using the troubleshooter and manual steps, follow the pattern from the Q&A example and use the dedicated Office removal tool (such as o15-ctrremove.diagcab) provided by Microsoft Support, then delete remaining Office folders under Program Files before reinstalling.
