On Samsung devices running Microsoft Launcher, widget and icon display problems are often related to system permissions or launcher configuration.
Try these steps:
- Check widget-related permissions (especially on Samsung/MI-style systems)
- Long-press the problematic app’s icon (from the home screen or App drawer).
- Tap App info.
- Go to Permissions.
- Look for any permission similar to “Display pop-up windows while running in the background” (wording may vary by device/OS).
- Turn this permission on.
- Go back to Microsoft Launcher and re-add or refresh the widget.
- Re-run Microsoft Launcher troubleshooting
- Open Launcher Settings.
- Go to Help and feedback > Troubleshoot.
- If battery or performance issues are also present, run the Fast battery drain test; this can surface configuration issues that affect how widgets refresh.
- Reset or reconfigure the home screen layout
- If the layout imported from a previous device or launcher, consider starting fresh and re-adding icons/widgets so Microsoft Launcher can adapt to the Fold 7’s open/closed screen states.
- Report the issue with logs to the product team
If the problem persists (especially specific to the Fold 7’s unfolded screen):
- Use the Feedback shortcut on the home screen to file a bug, or
- In Launcher Settings > Help and feedback > Troubleshoot, use the troubleshooting flow to capture logs, or
- Send details (phone model, Android version, screenshots) via email to the feedback address listed in the documentation.
This will help the engineering team investigate any layout issues specific to large-screen/foldable modes.
