Why do I pay money to microsoft help if I cannot get any help by phone when I need it? Very frustrated with trying to read solutions. IN the past, I called Microsoft and them helped me over the phone.

    Hello Patti Dollarhide,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum!

I understand that you are having issue with contacting Microsoft support to get help with your account. I truly understand how you feel. Let me assist you further.

    To contact Microsoft Support:

    1. Visit this site: Contact – Microsoft Support
    2. Type Contact in the search box.
    3. Now, click on Get Help and select Contact Support or enter below to contact support.
    4. Go to the Products & Services tab and choose the Microsoft 365 & Office category.

Please note that the chat support team only works during certain working hours. Therefore, if the last window indicates that you are unavailable, try opening it again the next day. If you prefer phone support, you can leave a phone number. That way, they can call you and help you.

I hope this will help with your situation. Please feel free to reach back if you have further update or more questions.

    Best Regards,

For help linking or managing Microsoft 365, Office, or account/billing, direct contact with Microsoft Support is required; phone or callback options are offered only through official support entry points and can vary by region and time of day.

To reach a live support agent for Microsoft 365/Office, account, or billing issues:

    1. Go to the Microsoft Support site and start in the Products & Services area for Microsoft 365 & Office.
    2. Use the Get Help experience:
      • In the search box, type a short description such as “Manage my subscription” or “Account & billing”.
      • Select Get Help, then choose Contact support when it appears.
    3. When prompted:
      • Choose the product category (for example, Microsoft 365 & Office).
      • Choose a category like Manage my subscription or Account & billing.
    4. At the end of the flow, select one of the available contact options:
      • Chat with a support agent in your web browser, or
      • Call me back (enter a phone number and a support agent will call).

If no phone/call-back option is shown, it usually means phone support is not available at that moment in the region or for that specific product; trying again during local business hours often surfaces the callback option.

For Outlook.com or personal Microsoft email issues specifically (including linking accounts or sign-in problems):

    1. Sign in to Outlook.com.
    2. Select Help on the menu bar.
    3. Enter the problem (for example, “link email accounts” or “account help”).
    4. If self-help articles do not solve the issue, scroll down to Still need help? and select Yes to reach support.

If sign-in is not possible, use the dedicated Outlook.com support entry point for users who cannot sign in.

For subscription charges or billing questions (for example, why money is being paid and what support is included), use the Account & Billing Help area to review and manage subscriptions and, if needed, request a refund where eligible.
