I have been charged for family and personal subscriptions. I need only one: Personal.

Please cancel the family subscription and return my money.

    Hi, I'm John!

Microsoft Q&A is public, and we can only provide information. It is beyond our capability to assist directly with billing-related issues.

First, please check which subscriptions are active in your account:

    1. Are both subscriptions showing as active on that page?
    2. Which one shows the most recent charge?
    3. Did you purchase them using the same Microsoft account?

Click "Add comment" to let me know.

    Regards,

    John J.D.

Cancellation and refunds for Microsoft 365 subscriptions cannot be processed here because this environment has no access to account or billing data. Use the steps below to cancel the unwanted subscription and then check refund eligibility.

    1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365 and sign in with the same Microsoft account used to buy the Microsoft 365 subscriptions.
    2. Locate the Microsoft 365 Family subscription and select Manage.
    3. On the next page, select Cancel (or Upgrade or Cancel, depending on what is shown).
    4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete cancellation.
      • If instead of Manage or Cancel the page shows Turn on recurring billing, the subscription is already set to expire on the date shown and will not be charged again.

To request a refund for the cancelled Family subscription:

    1. After cancellation, follow the guidance in How to get a refund on a Microsoft subscription to check refund eligibility.
    2. If the subscription was purchased in a country that supports prorated refunds (for example Canada, Israel, Korea, Turkey, or certain longer-term subscriptions in Denmark, Finland, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, or Portugal), a prorated refund may be available.
    3. If the Family subscription was purchased through a third party (for example Google Play or Apple App Store), contact that store’s support to cancel and request a refund instead of Microsoft.

If there are still unexpected or duplicate charges after these steps, review order history and payment methods on the Manage your payments page and, if needed, contact Microsoft support or the relevant store (Amazon, Google Play, Apple) for billing assistance.
