    Dear Dale Garcia

Thank you for your question and for sharing the details into Microsoft Q&A Forum.

I understand it can be confusing when Windows 11 Pro shows as activated but the device still appears to start as “Windows 11.” Just to clarify, the Windows boot logo does not display the edition (Home/Pro), so the most reliable way is to check the edition inside Settings. Let’s verify the current state and narrow this down together.

    • A screenshot of Settings > System > About (section Windows specifications: Edition, Version, OS build).
    • A screenshot of Settings > System > Activation (activation state + edition shown there).
    • The output of these commands (run in Command Prompt as Administrator), pasted as text or screenshots: slmgr /dlv, DISM /online Get-CurrentEdition and DISM /online /Get-TargetEditions
    • Whether the PC is connected to an organization (Work/School account, Azure AD/Intune managed)?
    • Whether the device ever had multiple Windows installations (dual‑boot) or shows more than one Windows entry during startup.

In the meantime, here are a few basic steps you can try:

    1. Confirm the edition that’s actually installed
    • Go to Settings > System > About > Windows specifications.
    • If it shows Edition: Windows 11 Pro, the upgrade is complete.
    1. Check activation state
    • Go to Settings > System > Activation and confirm Windows is activated and the Edition shown is Windows 11 Pro.
    1. Quick health checks (optional but helpful)
    • Press Win + R, type winver and share the Version/Build shown.
    • Run Windows Update and install any pending updates, then restart.
    • Ensure date/time and region are correct, and the device has a stable internet connection for activation.

While my initial response may not fully resolve the issue, I truly appreciate your cooperation as we work together toward identifying the most effective solution. Thank you so much for your understanding.

I hope these steps help confirm that Windows 11 Pro is correctly applied on your device and clear up the edition/startup behavior, while keeping your files and apps intact. Wishing you a smooth, interruption‑free completion of the upgrade.
