recurring monthy charge from Microsoft on my MC

I've tried several times to contact a Microsoft representative about a recurring charge on my MC, but no luck. I don't know what it's connected to, as the monthly charge isn't linked to my Microsoft account, and although I called the bank and cancelled the payment, it's been charged to my account again. What can I do? I selected a Microsoft 365 tag to enable this post to go through, but I'm not sure the charge for that is correct.

Are you signed in with the Microsoft account linked to your card?

    • Go to https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2246882and sign in

    • Click “Investigate charge” at the top right

    • Select the transaction and submit it for review

    • Microsoft billing will check the charge and contact you about a refund or next steps

Use the Microsoft billing tools to identify what the recurring charge is for, then cancel or dispute it using the correct channel.

    1. Investigate the charge
      • Go to the Manage your payments page of the Microsoft account dashboard and select "Investigate" for unrecognized charges: Manage your payments.
      • This helps determine if the charge is tied to:
        • A Microsoft subscription with recurring billing enabled.
        • Purchases made by a family member using the card.
        • A previously declined charge that was retried.
        • A pre-order/split order that has now shipped.
        • In‑app purchases from apps or games.
      • You can also use the billing troubleshooter to understand why the charge occurred: Start.
    2. Check for subscriptions and recurring billing
      • Sign in to the Services & subscriptions / Payment & billing area of the Microsoft account and review all active subscriptions and their billing status.
      • If a Microsoft 365 or other subscription shows Has recurring billing, turn off recurring billing or cancel it before the next charge date if the subscription is not wanted.
    3. If the charge is not visible in the account
      • It may be associated with a different Microsoft account (for example, another email address) or was purchased through a third party (such as a retailer or app store). In that case:
        • Verify sign‑in with any other personal Microsoft accounts that might have been used.
        • If the subscription was purchased from a third‑party retailer or mobile app store, contact that provider directly to manage or cancel the subscription.
    4. If cancellation or identification is still not possible
      • Use Microsoft’s guided support for billing issues and unrecognized charges so a support agent can review the situation with account‑level tools.
      • If neither Microsoft nor the guided tools can locate the transaction against any Microsoft account, work with the bank/financial institution again to dispute the charge as potentially fraudulent and request that the card be blocked and replaced if necessary.

These steps ensure the charge is either linked to a known subscription that can be cancelled, or treated as a disputed/fraudulent transaction through the bank if no Microsoft subscription can be found.
