1. Start any Office 2007 program (for example, Word 2007).
2. When prompted, enter the 25‑character product key from:
   • The sticker on the CD case or other packaging, or
   • The Certificate of Authenticity, or
   • The confirmation email from an online purchase.
3. After entering a valid product key, the Activation Wizard will offer:
   • Activate over the Internet (recommended): it will contact Microsoft’s servers and, if the key is valid and not overused, activate automatically.
   • Activate by telephone: use the phone numbers provided in the wizard or in this article to contact the Activation Center. Provide the installation ID shown on your screen; the agent will give a confirmation ID to type back into the wizard.
