My personal outlook has been locked for 72hours now. But I have been attempting login on during this time. I have been using this account for more than 6 years now and mainly use for my transactions, LinkedIn other jobs related correspondences. It highly appreciated if you could advise me to fix this? Do I need to wait further without attempting to login in? Thanks

    Hi,

During the 72-hour waiting period, you should avoid any sign-in activity to let the lock time expire.

If you still see a message saying your account has been locked when signing in after that time frame, please visit the support article below, click the "Sign in" button, and follow the steps provided. Be sure to review the tips included in the article, as they can help improve your chances of successfully recovering your account.

If unsuccessful, you will need to fill out this account recovery form to regain access to your account: https://account.live.com/acsr

Microsoft takes account security seriously, so the recovery process is fully automated to prevent unauthorized access. Complete the form using a device and location you've used before, and make sure to provide an accessible email address.

Microsoft typically reviews recovery requests within 24 hours. If your request is successful, they’ll send instructions to help you recover your account.

You can submit the form up to twice within a 24-hour period, so feel free to include any new details you remember each time until you recover your account.
