Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

If you’re using a personal account (ending in @hotmail.com or @outlook.com), please sign in with your Microsoft account here:

    https://account.microsoft.com/services

    • Locate the Office 365 Subscription in the lists, then Click Manage Subscription.

You can then follow the prompts to update your card details or choose a different payment method, and complete the payment for your subscription.

If you run into any errors while updating the payment method, try using a different browser or device, or wait a few minutes and try again.

To pay manually after an automatic annual payment failed, use the Microsoft 365 admin center billing options that match the billing account type.

    For Microsoft 365 business subscriptions:

    1. Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?linkid=2024339
    2. In Simplified view: select Subscriptions > View invoices. In Dashboard view: go to Billing > Bills & payments and select the Invoices tab.
    3. Find the invoice that is due or past due. A blue Pay now link appears for eligible invoices.
    4. Select Pay now.
    5. In the Pay now window, select Select a payment method and choose an existing card or add a new one.
    6. Select Pay now to submit the payment.

If the payment fails and partial payments are available for the account type (MCA billing account):

    1. After the failed attempt, the partial payment feature appears in the Pay now section.
    2. Enter an amount greater than the minimum partial payment amount.
    3. Select Select a payment method, choose or add a card, then select Pay now.
    4. Repeat until the full invoice amount is paid to avoid service interruption.

If there is an outstanding balance because the payment method was declined, and the account type is MOSA:

    1. In the admin center, open Billing > Bills & payments.
    2. Open the invoice with the warning that a payment method was declined.
    3. Select Pay your balance.
    4. Choose to retry the same payment method, use another one, or add a new one.
    5. Follow the prompts and then select Review and pay balance, then Save.

Automatic retries of the failed charge are handled by Microsoft; manual re-prompting is effectively done by using Pay now or Pay your balance as described above.
