Can i reset my activation code for MSFS2020. Reinstalling the program on a new pc and having issues

MSFS 2020 activation codes cannot be “reset” in the same way as a Windows digital license, but activation and reinstallation follow the same general principles as other Microsoft products:

1. If MSFS 2020 was purchased through Microsoft Store/Xbox app and is tied to a Microsoft account, reinstall on the new PC using the same Microsoft account. The license is associated with the account, not the device, so no new activation code is needed.
2. If MSFS 2020 was purchased as a retail key (boxed/download code), the same product key is reused on the new PC, provided license terms (such as number of devices) are respected. Product keys are unique 25‑character codes used during installation to unlock the product.
3. If activation fails after moving to a new PC or major hardware change, use the same Microsoft account and follow the standard reactivation path used for other products: sign in, install, and let the activation service validate the license online. If that does not work, contact Microsoft customer support so they can check the license and assist with reactivation on the new device.
4. If the original key or purchase account is lost, there is no supported way to generate a new key from the old installation; keys are not stored in a simple file that can be copied from the old PC.

For persistent activation issues, especially after hardware changes, contacting customer support is required so they can verify ownership and help reactivate on the new PC.
