Unable to create log analytics account in East US EUAP Region

I want to create a log analytics account in one of the East US EUAP regions (AME tenant), but it seems this region doesn't allow the creation of this resource. What should I do?

East US EUAP regions don’t support creating a Storage Discovery workspace or similar monitoring workspaces directly in EUAP. For Log Analytics and related Azure Monitor scenarios, the supported approach is:

1. Create the Log Analytics workspace in a supported, non‑EUAP region (for example, a standard East US region that’s available to the tenant).
2. Point monitored resources (VMs, platform services, diagnostics settings, agents, etc.) to this workspace in the supported region.

As documented for Storage Discovery, a workspace created in a supported (non‑EUAP) region can still show insights for resources located in EUAP regions. The same pattern applies: keep the workspace in a supported region and use it to collect and analyze data from EUAP‑hosted resources.

If no suitable non‑EUAP region is available due to regional access policies, follow the region access/optimization guidance and open a support request in the Azure portal to request access to an appropriate region.

You can create the Log Analytics workspace in a non‑EUAP (standard) region:

• EUAP regions are not intended to host monitoring control‑plane resources like Log Analytics workspaces.
