Hi. I have Project as a subscription in my account but I cannot get it onto my new laptop

How to install Microsoft Project

Go to this link and sign in with the account that has the Project license you mentioned: My account
Navigate to Apps & devices.
Under your available products, select Install Project to begin the installation.

It is not showing up. Although it shows it in my original snap shot. It is under a different account but I cannot remember the details.

Hi. The subscription was purchased by the business for my old laptop. But I cannot remember the details to log into the account it was assigned to.

Thank you for the clarification.

Since the subscription was purchased managed by your organization, the next step is to contact your organization’s administrator (the person who manages your Microsoft 365 licenses).

If you no longer remember the account details or password, only your organization admin can:

Reset the password for that account

Reassign the license if needed

Your organization’s admin will be the best person to help restore access to the licensed account so you can install Project on your new laptop.

Your user account is in the dialog shown in your screenshot. Use that account to log into your M365 portal, and then download Microsoft Project.

The user account you need to use to install Microsoft Project is at the top of the dialog you displayed in your screenshot. Log into the M365 portal using that account.

To get Project onto the new laptop, install it from the Microsoft 365 portal using the account that has the Project subscription.

Follow these steps on the new laptop:

Open a browser and go to microsoft365.com.
Select Sign in and sign in with the same work account that has the Project subscription.
After signing in, go to the Microsoft 365 home page and do one of the following depending on the type of Project license:
- For a stand-alone Project app (for example, Project Professional subscription or a non‑subscription Project Standard/Professional):
  - From the home page, select Install and more.
  - In the list of owned products or under Subscriptions, locate Project and select Install.
- For Project Online Professional or Project Online Premium:
  - Make sure a Project license is assigned to the account.
  - Then follow the same install flow: locate Project in the products list and select Install.
When the setup file finishes downloading, run it and complete the installation wizard.
After installation, open Project from Start menu; it will activate automatically with the signed‑in account.

If Project does not appear in the product list after signing in, the subscription for that account may not include a Project license and an admin would need to assign one first.
