Hi Andy Smith,
Thank you for posting your question on the Microsoft Q&A forum.
I understand how frustrating it can be when you need both Microsoft Visio 2024 and Microsoft 365 on the same device but are unable to install Visio after resetting your computer. The following points may help you check the problem:
1/ Match the installation technology
Visio 2024 can be installed alongside Microsoft 365 Apps if both products use the same installation technology, typically Click-to-Run.
If one product uses Click-to-Run while the other uses the traditional MSI installer, they cannot be installed together on the same device.
If you have a volume license for Visio 2024, you may try installing it using the Office Deployment Tool so that it installs as a Click-to-Run product and aligns with Microsoft 365 Apps.

2/ Check the architecture
Please ensure both Office and Visio use the same architecture:
- 32-bit Office with 32-bit Visio
- 64-bit Office with 64-bit Visio
Mixed architectures are not supported and will prevent the installation.
3/ Clean installation path
If the Visio installer you have uses the MSI format, one possible approach is:
- Uninstall Microsoft 365 App
- Install Visio
- Reinstall Microsoft 365 Apps using the same installation technology (for example, using the Office Deployment Tool)
