    Dear Kenneth Goodyear,

Thank you for giving your question to us.

    1. Trigger Manual Pairing Mode

Simply turning the earbuds on and off is often insufficient for discovery. Most earbuds require a specific trigger to broadcast their Bluetooth signal to new devices.

For Galaxy Buds2: Place both earbuds in the charging case and leave the lid open. Press and hold the touch pads on both earbuds simultaneously for 3 to 5 seconds until the case's internal LED indicator starts blinking (usually red and green).

    1. Configure Windows Discovery Settings

Navigate to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices.

Locate the Bluetooth devices discovery setting.

Change the drop-down menu from "Default" to "Advanced".

    Best regards,

Follow these steps to get the earbuds to show and connect in Windows:

    1. Put the earbuds in pairing mode
      • Check the earbuds S2 manual for how to enter Bluetooth pairing mode (usually holding a button on the buds or case until a light flashes).
      • Make sure both earbuds are in the case (if required) and that they are not already connected to a phone or another PC.
    2. Remove and re‑add the earbuds in Windows
      1. Select Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
      2. Select Devices.
      3. In the Audio section, if the earbuds appear, select them, choose Disconnect, then Remove device.
      4. With the earbuds in pairing mode, select Add device > Bluetooth.
      5. Wait for the earbuds to appear in the list and select them to connect.
    3. Check audio format and output
      1. Go to Start > Settings > System > Sound.
      2. Under Output, select the earbuds.
      3. In Output settings, under Format, select 2 channels, 16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality) if available.
    4. Update or reinstall Bluetooth drivers
      1. Open Device Manager (press the Windows logo key, type Device Manager, press Enter).
      2. Expand Bluetooth.
      3. On the Bluetooth adapter, open the context menu and select Update driver, then follow the prompts.
      4. If Bluetooth still fails, in Device Manager > Bluetooth, open the adapter’s context menu and select Uninstall device. Confirm, then shut down the PC completely.
      5. Turn the PC back on; Windows will try to reinstall the Bluetooth driver automatically. If not, in Device Manager, use Action > Scan for hardware changes.
    5. Test with another Bluetooth audio device
      • Try pairing a different Bluetooth headset or speaker.
      • If another device works, the earbuds may be faulty or not compatible with Windows. If no devices work, focus on fixing the PC’s Bluetooth (drivers, hardware, or manufacturer support).

If the earbuds still do not appear, check the earbuds manufacturer’s support page for any PC‑specific pairing instructions or firmware updates.
