I need some information about your system model and hardware to provide you with a solution.

    1

Right click your Start Button and open Device Manager.

Expand the 'Sound, Video and Game Controllers ' section.

Please provide a screenshot of that full Device Manager window.

    2

Click your Start Button, then just type msinfo and press Enter, please provide a screenshot of the resulting System Information window.

Follow these steps in Windows 11 to get sound working again after uninstalling the audio drivers and running sp160248.exe (or any other vendor package):

    1. Check that Windows sees an audio device
      1. Right-click Start and select Device Manager.
      2. Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
      3. Confirm that an audio device (for example, Realtek, High Definition Audio Device, USB audio, etc.) is listed and has no yellow warning icon.
    2. Update the audio driver automatically
      1. In Device Manager, under Sound, video and game controllers, right-click the audio device.
      2. Select Update driver.
      3. Select Search automatically for drivers and complete the wizard.
      4. If Windows finds nothing newer, leave it as is and continue.
    3. Cleanly reinstall the audio driver
      1. In Device Manager, right-click the audio device under Sound, video and game controllers.
      2. Select Uninstall device.
      3. Check Attempt to remove the driver for this device (or Delete the driver software for this device if shown).
      4. Select Uninstall.
      5. Restart the PC: Start > Power > Restart.
      6. After restart, Windows will automatically reinstall an audio driver.
    4. Try the generic Windows audio driver
      1. Open Device Manager again.
      2. Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
      3. Right-click the audio device and select Update driver.
      4. Select Browse my computer for drivers.
      5. Select Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
      6. Choose High Definition Audio Device (the generic Windows driver) and select Next to install it.
    5. If sound broke after a Windows Update, roll back the driver
      1. In Device Manager, right-click the audio device and select Properties.
      2. Go to the Driver tab.
      3. Select Roll Back Driver (if available) and follow the prompts, then select Yes.
    6. If none of the above works
      1. Go to the PC or motherboard manufacturer’s support site and download the latest audio driver for the exact model.
      2. Install that package (such as sp160248.exe) again.
      3. If audio was working before a recent update and all driver steps fail, restore the PC from a system restore point created before the problem. See “Restore from a system restore point” in Recovery options in Windows.

If the device is a USB audio device and still has no sound, also try:

    1. Uninstalling the USB audio device in Device Manager (but do not select “Delete the driver software for this device”), then reconnecting it.
    2. Plugging it into a different USB port.
    3. Installing the device-specific USB audio driver first (from the manufacturer), then reconnecting the device so Windows selects that driver instead of the default USB Audio 2.0 driver.
