Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

To help narrow down the issue:

    1. Are you using Microsoft 365 Personal/Family, or is this a Microsoft 365 Business subscription?
    2. Are you seeing this message on a Windows PC or a Mac?
    3. When you sign in to your Microsoft account at https://account.microsoft.com/services does the subscription show as active there, or still unpaid?

If you haven't tried anything yet:

    • Make sure you're signed in with the same Microsoft account that the subscription is linked to.
    • Then, open any Office app (like Word or Excel), go to File > Account, and click "Update License" to refresh your subscription status.

    If issue still persists:

Before installing, it’s a good idea to uninstall all existing versions of Office to avoid conflicts.

    Here’s how (Windows):

    • Open the Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
    • Look for any version of Microsoft Office or Office apps, right-click, then choose Uninstall. Please uninstall all Office apps.
    • Once that’s done, restart your computer just to be safe.

    If you're using Mac:

    Then, to reinstall Microsoft Office:

    • Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services again.
    • Sign in using the same Microsoft account linked to your license.
    • Find your Microsoft 365 Subscription and click the "Install".
    • That will download the installer for the Office apps, just run it and follow the steps.

If anything’s unclear or the "Install" option still doesn’t show, feel free to let me know. I’ll be happy to walk you through it!

I really hope this information is helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Regards,

    John J.D.

To restore access to a paid Microsoft 365 subscription and get chat-based help, follow these steps:

    1. Confirm the subscription is active
      • Check that the payment on 16 Feb 2026 actually activated or renewed the subscription and that it is not expired or cancelled.
      • Use the guidance in “find out when your subscription expires” to verify the expiration date. If the date does not match what is expected, contact support.
    2. If Office apps still show subscription or sign-in errors
      • If the subscription was bought as a physical box or card, the product key might still need to be entered before the subscription starts. See the steps under “You might still need to enter a product key” in the subscription notice article.
      • If notifications or access issues continue after renewal or purchase, use the Contact Microsoft Support options described below.
    3. Get chat support (recommended for hearing issues)
      • For Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, Basic, or Premium subscriptions, technical support is available via chat and call back. Go to the Microsoft 365 support contact page referenced in the “Microsoft 365 Customer Service and Support” article and choose:
        • Product: Microsoft 365 & Office
        • Category: Manage my subscription or Billing
        • Then select Chat with a support agent.
      • For Outlook.com, OneDrive, or Windows 11 without a Microsoft 365 subscription, the same article lists which support channels (chat, email, callback) are available.
    4. If accessibility or hearing is a concern
      • For customers with disabilities, including hearing issues, contact the Microsoft Disability Answer Desk for technical assistance. The team is trained on assistive technologies and can provide support in multiple languages and formats. Use the Disability Answer Desk site to find the best contact method for the region.
    5. If issues persist after all checks
      • If subscription status is correct and product key (if any) is redeemed, but access still fails, use chat support again and specify that the problem is with sign-in or subscription recognition for Microsoft 365 purchased on 16 Feb 2026. Support can review the account and fix activation or account-linking problems.
