To help narrow down the issue:
- Was the old laptop still working, or is it no longer accessible?
- In your Microsoft account Devices page, do you still see the old laptop listed?
- On the new PC, does Activation show Windows 11 Home activated right now?
You normally will not receive a product key when you upgrade to Windows Pro through the Microsoft Store. The upgrade uses a digital license linked to your Microsoft account and the device.
A few things to check.
- On the old laptop, go to Settings > System > Activation.
- Does it show Windows 10/11 Pro activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account?
On the new laptop, sign in with the same Microsoft account you used when you bought the upgrade.
- Then go to Settings > System > Activation > Troubleshoot.
- Choose "I changed hardware on this device recently" and see if your old device appears. You may be able to transfer the license.
Also note: upgrades purchased from the Microsoft Store are often tied to the original device, so they may not always transfer to a new PC.
