While cleaning out emails in my Outlook Account, I got two error messages: OX800CCCOE and OX80070057. I don't appear to have issues with my Internet connection, etc. I ran a "Repair" on these issues with Microsoft and got a message back that the repair was successful; however, it was not. I don't know what else to do.

    Dear Chuck Bridges

I understand you’re seeing 0x800CCC0E and 0x80070057 in Outlook, and the built‑in Repair reported success but the issue remains. I am happy to assist you.

    Could you confirm:

    • Which client shows the error: Classic Outlook for Windows or Outlook on the web (Outlook.com)?
    • What account type is affected: Gmail/Yahoo (IMAP) or Outlook.com?

I look forward to hearing from you. Have a lovely day!

Follow these steps in classic Outlook for Microsoft 365 to troubleshoot the connection and profile, since the built‑in Repair did not resolve the problem:

    1. Verify Outlook can reach the internet
      • Open a browser (Microsoft Edge or Chrome).
      • Browse to http://www.microsoft.com and http://www.bing.com.
      • If either site fails to load, fix the Windows network first using the steps in Fix network connection issues in Windows, then retry Outlook.
    2. Manually force a send/receive sync
      • In Outlook, go to the View tab.
      • Select the Sync button to force a manual sync.
      • Watch the status bar at the bottom for any additional error messages during sync.
    3. Repair the Outlook mail profile from inside Outlook
      • In Outlook, select File.
      • Select Account Settings > Account Settings.
      • On the Email tab, select the affected account.
      • Select Repair, then follow the wizard and restart Outlook when finished.
    4. If problems persist, repair Office from Control Panel
      • Close Outlook and all Office apps.
      • Open Control PanelProgramsUninstall a program.
      • Select the Microsoft 365/Office installation.
      • Choose ChangeOnline Repair (more thorough than Quick Repair) and complete the repair.
      • Restart the computer and test Outlook again.
    5. If Outlook still fails to connect, create a new Outlook profile
      • Close Outlook.
      • Open Control PanelUser AccountsMail.
      • Select Show Profiles.
      • Select the existing profile and choose Remove (only if data is stored on the server or backed up; removing a profile also removes local data files).
      • Select Add, enter a profile name, then add the email account by entering the name and primary email address.
      • Complete setup and start Outlook with the new profile.
    6. Run the Outlook connectivity troubleshooter
      • On Windows 10 or later, run the classic Outlook for Windows connectivity troubleshooter using the Start button in the “Fix your Outlook email connection by repairing your profile” article.
      • When prompted, open Get Help and follow the guided steps. This tool can automatically detect and fix several connection issues.

If multiple users in the same organization are seeing similar errors, an admin should also check the Microsoft 365 service health for Exchange Online to rule out a service‑side issue.
