Pop up ads in the lower right corner of my screen

I have adjusted all the notifications to be adjusted in my settings. I still get these annoying ads that appear in my lower right hand corner of my screen. Not every day. I click on the three dots and tell it to stop everything. It still sends different ads through. So, do I have to do this with every ad they send through or is there some way to stop them completely? thanks for any help. Brian

Hello,

Can you review the browsers you use.

For example, if you use Edge, paste this to the address bar to launch the settings page:

edge://settings/privacy/sitePermissions/allPermissions/notifications?search=notification

Then in the "Allowed to send notifications" section, please make sure it is empty.

If you use Google Chrome, use this link:

chrome://settings/content/notifications?search=notifications

Same, also review the "Allowed to send notifications" section.

If they are already empty, can you see if you can capture a screenshot when this happens, so I can have an idea where it might come from.

I use Firefox. This never happened before with Firefox. Only started after I got the new computer with windows 11. It is not AD specific. I stop one AD for say McAfee, even though I took this software off the computer, it sends another AD for something related to Microsoft & windows 11. I may never get another McAfee AD, but it keeps sending AD's for other stuff. Are you suggesting windows 11 reconfigured my Firefox to allows these AD's and I have to change that setting? They are like this.

Can you go to Windows Settings > System > Notification. The master toggle is off, right?

If you go down a bit on the page, where it lists all of the apps, if you sort by "most recent", what's listed on top?

Master toggle is off. "Print notifications" is the top app listed below. thanks brian

Thanks.. The printer notification is not it. Scroll down a bit on that page, make sure toggle is off for your FireFox browser.

In addition, in your browser, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Permissions > Notifications (on desktop) and make sure allowed sites area is not listing any.

Then in Windows settings, go to Settings > Privacy & security > Recommendations and offers, turn off the followings.

See if it improves.

How often does this pop up come up? Do a clean boot using this instruction: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows-da2f9573-6eec-00ad-2f8a-a97a1807f3dd

Make sure you follow the instruction closely and do NOT disable the Microsoft services.

Stay in clean boot for some time please, and don't launch any app. I want to know if this ad still pop up.

@ once per week or so. Honestly I don't trust myself to do the clean boot. Appreciate your help. Brian

If it only happens once a week, then clean boot is not a suitable route anyway.

I would suggest that you go through my initial post about Edge and Chrome, if these browsers are installed, even though you don't use them, still go through the settings to clear notification allowed sites anyway.

If that still doesn't work, perhaps consider uninstall FireFox for a week and see if it comes back.
