I can't install my gmail account to classic outlook

It keeps rejecting my Gmail address. It says that outlook can't load IMAP setting. Does anyone know the correct IMAP settings?

I suddenly have the same issue. I'm using Outlook 2016 and gmail suddenly won't connect. All my IMAP settings are correct. Following to see if anyone else has this issue or this gets solved.

For Gmail in classic Outlook, IMAP must be enabled in Gmail and these server settings must be used.

In Gmail (web):
- Go to Settings > See all settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
- Under IMAP Access, select Enable IMAP and Save Changes.
In classic Outlook (manual/advanced setup):

Incoming mail (IMAP) server

Server: imap.gmail.com
Port: 993
Encryption: SSL (SSL/TLS)
Requires authentication: Yes
Username: full Gmail address
Password: Gmail password (or app password if required)

Outgoing mail (SMTP) server

Server: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS/STARTTLS)
Encryption: SSL for port 465, or TLS/STARTTLS for port 587
Requires authentication: Yes (same username and password as incoming server)

If automatic setup fails in classic Outlook, choose Advanced options > Let me set up my account manually, select IMAP, and enter the above values. If Outlook still fails but the address and password are correct, an app password may be required as described in the Outlook email setup troubleshooting article.
