    Dear @David Mang

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

As a moderator, I don't have the tools to investigate your specific account directly because this is a user-to-user support forum. Moderators and contributors, including external Microsoft employees, cannot directly intervene in Microsoft product features or access back-end systems. Our role is limited to providing technical guidance on reported issues, requests, or ideas. However, I will try my best to guide you as clearly as possible.

Based on my understanding, you used your Microsoft personal account to purchase a business subscription for your company and added your own credit card for the payment. You want to stop being the individual responsible for the subscription payments, move that responsibility to your company, and remove your personal account from the subscription management.

Please help me confirm if I have understood your issue correctly so I can provide the most suitable guidance.

When you used your personal account to purchase the subscription, Microsoft automatically created a tenant and provided you with a Global Admin account. If you no longer wish to manage everything yourself, you can create a new user and assign them the Global Admin role.

Please use the Global Admin account that was provided to you initially to follow these steps:

To assign a new Admin: Go to Admin Center > Users > Active Users > Add a user. During the setup, ensure you assign the Global Admin role to this account.

To change the contact email for the organization (so they receive all official notifications):

Go to Admin Center > Billing > Billing Accounts > click on your Organization Name > Edit the email account here.

Go to Admin Center > Settings > Org Settings > navigate to the Organization Profile tab > Organization Information > Edit the contact email here.

    To remove your credit card:

Go to Admin Center > Billing > Payment methods.

Note: You must add the company’s payment method first before you can remove your own.

All of the steps above require a Global Admin account to sign in to the Admin Center. Please use the specific admin account Microsoft provided when you first created the tenant.

If there’s anything I may have misunderstood, I would truly appreciate it if you could provide a bit more detail to help me better understand your needs.

    Looking forward to your response!

Microsoft accounts and their purchases cannot be merged or fully transferred to another user. Software and subscriptions are tied to the Microsoft account that was used to buy or redeem them.

    The closest option is:

    1. Keep the existing personal Microsoft account as the “owner” of the purchases.
    2. If needed, add or change email aliases on that account so it can be used with a more company-appropriate address:
      • Go to the Manage how you sign in section of the Microsoft account.
      • Add a new alias (for example, a work-style address) or choose an existing one.
      • Select Make primary for the alias that should be used going forward.
    3. If there is a second Microsoft account (for example, a work account) that should use the same email address, the email address must first be freed from the old account:
      • Sign in to the old account, add a different alias, make that alias primary, then remove the original email from that account.
      • After that, the email can be added as an alias to the other Microsoft account.

    Important limitations:

    • Purchases, licenses, and data under the original personal Microsoft account do not move to the new account.
    • If the company needs full control of licenses, they should be purchased and managed under a company-controlled Microsoft account or tenant going forward.
