    Hi Phong Tan Dong

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. From your description, I understand that you can send email but can’t receive anything in Outlook and I know how frustrating it can be.

Since the Q&A Assist reply already covered several checks, can you let me know if you've already tried those steps?

To let me guide you better, could you please also confirm:

    • Does this happen with all incoming emails, or just specific ones?
    • When someone sends you a test email from Gmail/Yahoo, do they get a bounce-back / non-delivery message?

    Meanwhile, please try the following:

    1. Check Outlook on the web

    • Sign in to Outlook on the web in your browser
    • Check all folders (Inbox, Junk Email, Deleted Items, Archive), ensure your inbox filter is set to All (not "Unread", "Flagged", etc.)
    • Check Focused/ Other tab (if Focused Inbox is enabled), emails may land in Other. You can also temporarily turn Focused Inbox off to test.

    2. Check for hidden rules/forwarding

In Outlook on the web's settings, go to:

    • Settings > Mail > Rules/ Sweep: delete any suspicious rules you did not create (especially rules that moves/deletes mail)
    • Settings > Mail > Forwarding: make sure nothing is forwarding

    3. Check mailbox storage

If your storage is full, Outlook won’t send or receive. Check storage (Settings > Account > Storage) and free up space if needed.

    4. Check your internet connection

    • Make sure your device has a stable internet connection and try switching networks (e.g., from Wi-Fi to mobile hotspot) then test again.
    • Check from a different browser/device or from an InPrivate/Incognito window,
    • If needed, you can then clear the browser cache/cookies for Outlook.com.

Please feel free to let me know how it goes so I can guide you further. Thank you for your time and understanding.

The most common reasons for being able to send but not receive mail in Outlook.com are:

    1. Mailbox or address issues
    • If you see an error like "The recipient server did not accept our requests to connect", the Outlook.com address may need to be updated. In that case, follow the steps in Add or remove an email alias in Outlook.com to update the email address.
    1. Problems on the recipient server side
    • Non‑delivery can be caused by:
      • Invalid email address (sender is using the wrong address).
      • Mailbox full (cannot accept new messages).
      • Server issues (mail server is down or having problems).
      • Spam filters blocking messages. Ask senders whether they get a bounce/non‑delivery report when they email the Outlook.com address and check the reason listed in that report.
    1. Account reputation or sending limits (for new accounts)
    • If the Outlook.com account is new, it may have temporary restrictions until normal usage is established. See Sending limits in Outlook.com for details.
    1. Safe senders and contacts
    • Ask important senders to add the Outlook.com address to their safe senders list.
    • Add people who email this account to Contacts in Outlook.com so their mail is less likely to be blocked.

If these checks do not help, use the Outlook.com interactive troubleshooter and in‑product HelpStill need help? to contact support while signed in.
