Capturing audio, video, and screen content from Teams meetings for later review or sharing
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Regarding the Teams Live Event held on September 10, 2025, if the event link is no longer opening, this is most likely due to recording retention/storage policies. Teams Live Event recordings are typically kept for a limited period based on how your organization’s storage/retention is configured. Once the retention period is reached:
- The recording may no longer appear under the Live Event resources
- The attendee playback link may stop working
- The event page itself may not load reliably for older events
Since your event was on September 10, 2025, it’s possible the recording has now aged beyond the default retention window in your environment.
For more details, please refer to: Live event recording policies in Microsoft Teams
Even if the Teams link is no longer opening, the recording may still exist elsewhere, especially if it was saved automatically to OneDrive/SharePoint or recently removed.
Here are some steps you can try:
- Ask the Organizer/Producer to check OneDrive / SharePoint
If possible, please contact the original organizer or produce and ask them to check:
- OneDrive > My files > Recordings
- The SharePoint site connected to the Team/channel used for the event (if applicable)
- Check the Recycle Bin
- Ask the organizer to check their OneDrive Recycle Bin, or the associated SharePoint Recycle Bin
- If they find it there, they can select the file and choose Restore.
- Contact your IT Admin
If the organizer is unable to locate the recording, you may also want to contact your IT administrator. Depending on your tenant’s retention and compliance settings, they may be able to check whether the file is still available by running a search in Microsoft Purview.
Hopefully it will help work with your issue and if you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.
