Our Azure Synapse workspace "lsd850-synapse01" is stuck in provisioningState=Failed following a full subscription tenant transfer (Transfer Service Administration = YES). Current behavior: - Runtime execution works: existing pipelines and triggers continue to run. - Control plane is locked: - Synapse Studio does not show pipelines, triggers, data flows, SQL scripts, Spark jobs, or KQL scripts. - Cannot manually trigger pipelines. - Cannot add or modify Synapse workspace RBAC roles (Add fails). - Azure Portal reports Workspace Unupdatable / non-terminal Failed state. - PATCH and PUT operations are blocked. This is a known post-tenant-migration Synapse failure mode where the control plane is unavailable but the runtime remains active. We need Microsoft to reset/reconcile the Synapse workspace provisioning state so it returns to Succeeded. Tenant migration completed successfully - Managed identity has been recreated and RBAC/ACLs reapplied - Pipelines are actively executing but Studio is unusable Please escalate to the Synapse product engineering team to reconcile the workspace state.

    Hi Ron Radkay

After a full subscription tenant transfer, the Azure Synapse workspace entered a non‑terminal Failed provisioning state due to incomplete control‑plane reconciliation. The data plane remained operational, but management operations were blocked. The issue required CSS team to reset the workspace state.
CSS team reset the Azure Synapse workspace, and the control plane has been restored. Synapse Studio is accessible, and all pipelines and processes are functioning as expected.

Hope this helps, Please let us know if you have any questions and concerns
