    Hello Umut

Payment status may appear as pending when there are billing problems such as missing, expired, or declined payment methods, incomplete setup requirements, or updates to security information (like a phone number or alternate email) that trigger a mandatory 30‑day hold. It can also show pending while Microsoft Store orders or subscriptions are still being verified or processed.

To resolve this, please try the following steps:

    • Contact your bank to confirm that your card is active and not blocked.
    • Complete all required profile and verification steps via your Microsoft account settings, including adding a valid payment method, verifying your phone number through SMS code, confirming your backup email address, agreeing to Microsoft’s terms of service, and ensuring any required identity verification is finished.
    • If the pending status is tied to a security info change, wait for the 30‑day period to end or cancel the request as this waiting time cannot be shortened.

If the issue persists, check your subscription status by signing in to your Microsoft account and using the online chat service, providing necessary account details. Since this is a user‑to‑user community forum, support here is limited to sharing suggestions based on personal experience, and private account information cannot be accessed.

Here's how to reach out to Support Team (live chat):

    Go to: https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact

    1. In the search box, enter a short description of your issue, for example: Microsoft 365 Basic payment still pending
    2. Hit "Get Help"
    3. You can try the suggested solution shown in the screenshot below or scroll down and select Sign in to contact support for further assistance (please sign in using a personal Microsoft account). Then follow the on-screen prompts to reach Support Team.

Tip: Support Team availability can vary, and retrying at a different time often helps.

    Yours sincerely.

The pending status is caused by the earlier declined payment. Until the outstanding balance is successfully charged, the Microsoft 365 Basic subscription and its storage benefits will not fully reactivate, which is why new email cannot be received.

    Take these steps in order:

    1. Check subscription status and balance
      1. Go to the Services & subscriptions page and sign in with the same Microsoft account used for Microsoft 365 Basic.
      2. Under the Microsoft 365 heading, confirm whether the subscription shows expired, suspended, or past due.
      3. If there is an outstanding balance, follow the on‑screen steps to pay it.
    2. Fix the declined payment
      1. Go to the Payment options page and sign in.
      2. If the payment method shows an error, update the card details (number, expiration date, name, billing address) so they exactly match the bank statement.
      3. Save the updated payment method and then return to Services & subscriptions to retry the payment if a Pay now or similar option is shown.
    3. If the card is still declined
      1. Confirm with the bank that:
        • The card is active and has sufficient funds.
        • International or online/recurring transactions are allowed.
      2. If necessary, add a different card on the Services & subscriptions page and select it as the payment method for the subscription, then pay the outstanding balance.
    4. If the status does not clear
      • Once payment succeeds, the subscription status should change from past due/pending to active. If it remains pending or email storage is still blocked after payment is confirmed, contact Microsoft Support directly so the billing team can review and correct the account.

While the subscription is limited, Outlook may block sending/receiving because of storage. After the outstanding balance is cleared and the subscription is active, the storage entitlement should be restored and mail flow should resume.
