Today I set up a free acount to learn Azure. After entering details, I got confirmation email.

But link to log in ends up in error page:

Sign-in failed

Error code: interaction_required

Error message: interaction_required: AADSTS5000225: This tenant has been blocked due to inactivity. To learn more about tenant lifecycle policies, see https://aka.ms/TenantLifecycle Trace ID: 03ec6031-af84-4966-89b2-fd5aa7a21200 Correlation ID: 019cd81a-8caa-7dc2-aa59-e1b5772b87bc Timestamp: 2026-03-10 14:15:45Z

Anyone able to reset the account or set it to active?

Thanks

This issue will be resolved by signing in using the tenant-specific Azure portal URL and the tenant ID I have provided over the private messages tab:

    HTTP

    https://portal.azure.com/<tenant-ID>

Once you accessed the portal through the tenant-scoped URL, the tenant became active again and you will be able to manage resources without further issues.

And the tenant will be restored successfully.

This tenant has been blocked due to inactivity appears when:

    • No one has signed into the tenant for an extended period
    • Microsoft automatically moved the tenant into an inactive state
    • The tenant is now blocked from all sign-ins
    • Admin access is disabled until reactivation
