Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Hi @RALPH BENNETT,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum,
I'm sorry to hear about the recurring $8.25 charge you're experiencing, and I appreciate your patience and the details you provided.
This charge appears to stem from a subscription created by a former employee whose login details you no longer have, but since the subscription is tied to your company’s tenant, you or your IT admin can still locate and manage it including reviewing its assignment, adjusting billing, or stopping renewals without needing the original account credentials.
Here are my recommendations, please follow the steps below:
A - To review the invoice within your tenant
If you’re an admin on a business tenant, please sign in at https://admin.microsoft.com and review:
- Billing > Bills & payments: Review Invoices and adjust the date range (e.g., past 6 months or a custom range).
- Change billing account: If you have multiple billing accounts, select this option to review invoices across each one.
- Billing > Billing accounts > Billing profiles: In some cases, charges may be associated with a different billing profile, so make sure to review each profile carefully. Under Billing accounts, you can also verify which email address is set to receive Microsoft billing notifications. If that email address hasn’t received any invoice or charge notification, please contact the Billing team for further assistance (see steps below).
For your references:
- View or download your invoice in the Microsoft 365 admin center
- Manage your Microsoft business billing profiles
B - Contact Support
Given this situation, I strongly recommend that you reach out directly to the Microsoft Billing Support team. They have the ability to look deeper into the billing records associated with the card that is being charged and help identify which tenant or account the subscription belongs to even when the login credentials are no longer available.
Once you reach out to Microsoft Billing, an agent will contact you to verify account ownership and assist with identifying the tenant tied to the charge, restoring access if needed, canceling the subscription, stopping future billing, and requesting eligible refunds. Please remember to include your invoice information when submitting the request to help the team locate the charge more quickly.
To proceed, please follow the steps below:
- Sign in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center with your Microsoft administrator account. (If you're not an admin, please contact your organization's administrator to submit a request on your behalf.)
- On right bottom corner click on "Help & support"
-
- After that choose the "Contact support".
-
- Describe your issue and request to speak with a live agent. You may be offered options for chat or call depending on your region and support availability.
