Where are synced folders from Teams stored on my local storage device?

The folders that you sync from Microsoft Teams are stored in OneDrive.

You can follow these steps to find the local path:

Step 1: Select the OneDrive icon on your computer

Step 2: Select Settings > Account

Here, you will see OneDrive – organization name. After that, you can locate this path in File Explorer.

Synced Teams channel folders are stored in the same local path that OneDrive uses for SharePoint libraries from the organization.

When a Teams channel is synced, its files are actually coming from the underlying SharePoint document library. On Windows, the OneDrive sync app creates an organization folder under the user profile, for example:

%userprofile%\Contoso\<Teams channel name>

Key points:

• Teams channel files are stored in SharePoint sites.
• The OneDrive sync app syncs those SharePoint/Teams locations to a folder named after the organization (such as Contoso) under the user profile.
• Each synced Teams channel appears as a subfolder inside that organization folder (for example, Desktop \\ Contoso \\ <name of the Teams Channel> in the Surface Hub example, or %userprofile%\\Contoso\\<name of the Teams Channel> on a typical PC).
• In File Explorer, these folders also appear in the left navigation pane under the organization name with the SharePoint/Teams sync icon.

If the Status column is empty, Files On-Demand may be keeping items as online-only; right‑click a folder and choose Always keep on this device to download it locally, or Free up space to make it online‑only again.
