Hello all,

So i got this offer giving students who verify with their student email 1 year free subscription on microsoft 365 premium along with LinkedIn Premium for a year as well. And while doing all of the needed steps, payment method, verifying the student email etc.. After all of it, i found out that when i tried to do it on mobile it connected directly with the email i don't have LinkedIn in on. Which defies the whole point of why i even wanted this offer to begin with. And now i cannot verify a second time with the same student email on my main account to get the benefits on it. Which is why i'd like to know if there is any way to transfer the subcription and benefits to the main account where i actually need it. I couldn't find anywhere to contact microsoft directly to talk about this. However I have sent an email to LinkedIn Supports in hopes that it helps, but i believe it concerns microsoft more.

Any help is appreciated.

Best regards to you all

    Hello Omar

Thank you for posting your question on Microsoft Q&A forum

Microsoft doesn't support transferring subscription and benefit between account.

When did you sign up for the LinkedIn Premium 12-month offer? Is it in February or in March?

If you sign up in March, then unfortunately the Offer has expired and no longer available

You can read about this info here: https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a9954084?hcppcid=search

If you sign up in February, then please contact Microsoft Support to talk more detail about this issue, here is the instruction step on how you could get in contact with them:

    1. Open a website link - Contact - Microsoft Support
    2. In the box below "We're here to help", type Microsoft 365, click "Get Help", and then click "Contact Support" below.
    3. In this section, you will need to sign in to your Microsoft account.
    4. Select "Microsoft 365 and Office" under Products & Services, select "Manage my Subscription" as the category, and click to confirm
    5. You can select " Chat with a support agent in your web browser " to access the chat window.

I hope you can get the support you need, have a nice day.

The subscription and its premium benefits (including Outlook and LinkedIn-related offers) are tied to the Microsoft account that was used when redeeming the student offer. The context only supports managing or cancelling subscriptions on the account where they are already active; it does not support transferring a Microsoft 365 subscription or its benefits from one Microsoft account to another.

To stop paying for or using the subscription on the “wrong” account, the supported action is to cancel that subscription on the account where it is currently active:

    1. Go to https://account.live.com.
    2. Sign in with the Microsoft account that currently has the Microsoft 365 subscription (the one used on mobile).
    3. Go to Subscriptions.
    4. Select Manage for the subscription plan that was activated with the student offer.
    5. Use the options there to manage or cancel the subscription.

Canceling the subscription does not delete the Microsoft account or email; it only stops the plan from renewing.

For the LinkedIn Premium part of the offer, support for the promotion email or activation link is handled on the LinkedIn side, so contacting LinkedIn Support (as already done) is the correct step for issues with applying the LinkedIn Premium to the desired LinkedIn account.

If further help is needed with the Microsoft 365 subscription itself (for example, confirming which account it is on, billing questions, or problems cancelling), use Microsoft account and billing support:

    • Sign in and review subscriptions at the Microsoft account Services & subscriptions area.
    • Use the Account & Billing Help entry point for additional assistance.

Based on the available information, there is no supported way in the documentation to transfer an already-redeemed Microsoft 365 student subscription and its benefits from one Microsoft account to another; the only supported options are to manage/cancel it on the current account and, if eligible and technically allowed by the promotion rules, attempt redemption on the correct account (which may not be possible if the offer is strictly one-time per student email).
