    Hello Sanjeet Ambavale

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

It sounds like you’re having trouble getting into your Azure for Students subscription. Let’s walk through a few things you can check and try:

    1. Verify your eligibility
      • Azure for Students requires you to confirm you’re a current student by using a school-issued email address (or Shibboleth if your institution supports it). A personal Gmail address alone won’t work for the initial verification step.
      • If you don’t have a school email, you can use the GitHub Student Developer Pack flow to verify.
    2. Sign up or re-verify using the proper flow
    3. Check your subscription status
      • Sign in to the Azure portal (https://portal.azure.com/) and open the Education Hub (Education → software). If your subscription has been disabled (due to inactivity, credit exhaustion, or a canceled subscription), you’ll see a notification there.
      • If it’s disabled because your $100 credit expired or you used all your credit, you can either renew your Azure for Students benefit (if it’s been less than 12 months since sign-up) or upgrade to a Pay-As-You-Go subscription.
    4. Clear browser cache or try incognito mode

If you’re still stuck, could you let us know:

    • The exact error message or behavior you’re seeing when you try to sign in
    • Which email address you used to sign up (school-issued or Gmail)
    • Whether you’ve verified your student status yet and how (school email vs. GitHub)
    • If you ever had access to an Azure subscription before (and if it has expired or been disabled)

With that info, we can zero in on the root cause. Hope this helps!

Access to the Azure student offers depends on which program is being used and on the account status. The email address alone can’t be granted access; the correct sign-in method and eligibility must be in place.

For Azure Dev Tools for Teaching (software downloads like Windows Server, SQL Server, etc.):

    1. Confirm that the college/department is enrolled in Azure Dev Tools for Teaching and that an admin has provisioned access.
    2. Sign in to the Azure portal using the same credentials that are used for the institution’s Imagine/Dev Tools subscription and Education Hub:
      • Students don’t need an Azure subscription just for Dev Tools software.
      • If the institution uses Active Directory, use the same school credentials.
      • If not, a Microsoft account must be created with the same email address that the institution has on file.
    3. If sign-in fails or credentials aren’t recognized, use a private/incognito browser session and make sure school credentials are used. If it still fails, contact the subscription admin or use the Plans Support contact for the region.

For Azure for Students (the $100 credit subscription):

    1. Azure Dev Tools for Teaching does not include Azure credit. To get Azure credit, sign up separately for Azure for Students using the student account.
    2. If an Azure for Students subscription was already created and is now disabled, the most common reasons are:
      • All $100 credit has been used; or
      • The 12‑month period has expired; or
      • The subscription was accidentally canceled.
    3. If the subscription is disabled because credit is used or expired, or it was canceled, it can only be reactivated by upgrading to a pay‑as‑you‑go subscription by contacting Azure support from the Azure portal. After upgrade, charges apply at pay‑as‑you‑go rates for any usage beyond free services.
    4. If the subscription was accidentally canceled but still within the 12‑month window, Azure support can reactivate it so remaining credit and free services can be used.

If sign-in problems persist after using the correct account and private browsing, and the subscription appears disabled or inaccessible, the next step is to contact Azure support from the Azure portal or use the Azure for Education Plans Support contact page so that the tenant/subscription can be checked and, if eligible, reactivated.
