Hi, I have a problem drawing curves. Normally you should get 1 control point for the curve with every mouse click. However, in my case the first click starts the curve generation and then additional points are generated automatically with high frequency. The window almost freezes and it ends when i duoble click to end the curve generation mode. Even short curves are built by dozens of control points and the function is not usable any more. I have tried many things such as: new installation of office, even windows lately , different mouse, using touch pad, using shift-control-alt buttons etc.
Many thanks for useful tips and tricks!

    Hi @Vogt Bastian (CR/AME1)

The behavior you are descripting with curve drawing generating rapid, uncontrolled control points is a common issue and usually indicates something interfering with input events inside Office apps.

For further check, kindly follow these recommendations that I could provide to you:

1/ Check if ClickLock is enabled in Windows

    • Open Control Panel
    • Click on Mouse
    • Under ClickLock, check if you have turned it off
    • If it is enabled > turn it OFF
      • User's image

2/ Try Office in save mode

    • Press Win + R and type: “excel /safe” (or the app you are drawing in) and try to draw the curve again. If it works normally, there is an add-in causing the issue.

3/ Test in a new Window user profile

    • Create a temporary new test user by navigate to: Settings > Accounts > Family > Add someone.
    • After that restart the device, login with that user account, open the Office and try drawing again.

In case all check has pass but the issue still persists, kindly confirm these following so that I can investigate further:

1/ Which Office app are you drawing in (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)?

2/ Version of Office (Microsoft 365, Office 2021, etc.)

3/ Does the issue happen with curves only, or also with shapes/lines/freehand drawing?

4/ Is your device a laptop with a touchscreen or pen input?
