HELLO; After Windows UPDATE ( yesterday ), I changed my psswd. NOW, IT WILL NOT LET ME

SINC my Galaxy A16 fone to pc. IT WAS working FINE 1 day prior to latest W UPDATE.

When i go to open the app, on the fone, it says it wants my psswd. FINE, i puty new psswd in, red mark error response says: YOU TRIED TOO MANY TIMES, Even though it was JUST the FIRST TRY; then underneath it shows bunch of 'jumbled up' letters to key in. Even putting my former psswd and then the letters, IT DOES NOT WORK. I tried, uninstall/install and that doesnt help any.

ANY TYPE HELP, MUCH APPRECIATED.

THANKS

Follow these steps to re-establish a clean connection between the Galaxy A16 and the Windows 11 PC using Phone Link / Link to Windows.

    1. Make sure apps are updated
    • On the PC, open Phone Link > Settings > About > Check for updates and install any pending updates.
    • On the Galaxy A16, open Link to Windows > Settings > Check for updates, or go to Details > … (More) > About Link to Windows and update if available.
    1. Sign out and unlink the Microsoft account on the phone On the Galaxy A16:
    2. Open Link to Windows.
    3. Tap the Microsoft account name under Linked account.
    4. Go to Account settings > Sign out and unlink account.
    5. Confirm by tapping Unlink when asked.

This clears the old sign-in state that may be stuck after the password change.

    1. Remove and re-add the phone on the PC On the Windows 11 PC:
    2. Open Phone Link.
    3. Go to Settings > Devices.
    4. Select Add new device and follow the on-screen steps to pair the Galaxy A16 again.

If the app still misbehaves when asking for the password, perform a deeper reset.

    1. Soft reset Phone Link connection On the PC:
    2. Select Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
    3. Find Phone Link in the list.
    4. Toggle Phone Link Off, then On.
    5. Select Open Phone Link and try again.
    6. Full reset of apps and link (if issues persist) On the Galaxy A16:
    7. Open Settings > Apps (or Apps & notifications).
    8. Find and tap Link to Windows.
    9. Tap Force stop and confirm.

    On the PC:

    1. In a browser, go to https://accounts.microsoft.com/devices/android-ios and sign in with the same Microsoft account used on the phone.
    2. For each listed Android device, select Show details > More actions > Unlink this phone.
    3. Select Start > Settings > Phone > Unlink this PC.
    4. Go back to Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
    5. Find Phone Link, select it, then choose Advanced options > Reset.
    6. Open Phone Link again and follow the setup process to create a brand-new link.
    7. Keep sync stable
    • Ensure both PC and phone are powered on and connected to the Internet.
    • For best reliability, connect both to the same private/trusted Wi‑Fi network.
    • Turn Battery saver off on the phone if it interferes with notifications and background sync.

After these steps, the password prompt should accept the new Microsoft account password and allow the Galaxy A16 to sync again.
