Subject: Critical Sign-in Issue: Account blocked by inactive legacy tenant (AADSTS5000225)

Description: Dear Support Team,

As a faculty member at Sofia University, I am experiencing a critical authentication error when trying to access my Microsoft 365 and Azure resources.

The Problem: Whenever I attempt to sign in with my institutional credentials, I am redirected to a legacy/testing tenant that has been blocked due to inactivity. I receive the following error:

Error Code: interaction_required

Message: AADSTS5000225: This tenant has been blocked due to inactivity.

Correlation ID:

Timestamp: 2026-03-11 17:51:50Z

Requested Action: This blocked tenant is an old testing environment and is no longer needed. However, it is currently preventing me from accessing my primary academic account and the associated licenses provided by Sofia University.

Could you please:

Disassociate my identity from the blocked tenant (Tenant ID: PIi-...) so I can reach the correct organizational directory.

Or provide a way to bypass this "interaction_required" loop so I can manage my active subscriptions.

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards, Petar Georgiev

    Hello petar_georgiev

This issue will be resolved by signing in using the tenant-specific Azure portal URL and the tenant ID I have provided over the private messages tab:

    HTTP

    https://portal.azure.com/<tenant-ID>

Once you accessed the portal through the tenant-scoped URL, the tenant became active again and you will be able to manage resources without further issues.

And the tenant will be restored successfully.
