Start from your Learn profile https://learn.microsoft.com/users/me/credentials/?tab=credentials-tab and select the Renew button

Which certification?

Certification renewal is only available in a specific window and only through the Microsoft Learn renewal assessment.

1. Sign in to the Microsoft Learn profile that holds the certification.
2. Select the avatar (photo) in the top-right corner and choose Profile.
3. In the profile menu, select Certifications.
4. Scroll through the list of certifications and look for a blue Renew button next to the certification.
   • The Renew button appears only within the eligibility window: from six months before the certification’s expiration date up until it expires.
5. Select Renew to open the free, online renewal assessment for that certification and complete it.
   • The assessment is shorter, focused on updates, and typically takes about 45 minutes.
6. After passing, the certification’s expiration date is updated immediately on the Microsoft Learn profile.

Important details:

• Renewal is free for valid Microsoft associate, specialty, and expert certifications.
• Fundamentals certifications do not expire and do not require renewal.
• If the certification has already expired, it cannot be renewed; the required exam(s) must be passed again to earn the certification.
• There is no alternative renewal path (such as retaking the original exam or using a beta exam).
• If the correct renewal assessment is not shown or there are issues with the renewal link, open a ticket with Credentials Support as indicated in the context Q&A items.
