Hi @Sue Obendorf,
Thank you for reaching out.
I understand how confusing this is, especially since you already have Microsoft 365. What’s happening is that the Visio Plan 2 trial was created under a separate sign in, so the Visio trial is linked to that new account rather than your existing work Microsoft 365 account. In that case, the Visio trial entitlement is attached to the new trial sign in (often an .onmicrosoft.com account), so signing in with your usual Microsoft 365 account can make it look like Microsoft 365 must be purchased again.
To move forward with this, I would recommend following these steps:
- Sign in with the trial account and turn off recurring billing or cancel the trial (so it does not renew).
- Ask your Microsoft 365 work tenant admin to purchase Visio Plan 2 and assign the license to your work account.
- After the license is assigned, sign in to Visio with your work account at and install or use Visio from there.
For detailed instructions on canceling your free trial, please refer to this document Cancel your Microsoft business subscription in the Microsoft 365 admin center | Microsoft Learn
I hope this information is helpful. Please follow the steps above and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can continue working together to resolve the issue.
